Mental Health Programs

Enjoying music therapy.WDSRA offers several programs for individuals who have a mental health challenge or mental illness. One in four families are touched in some way by a serious mental illness. WDSRA programs offer individuals and their families support, friendship, and fun.

WDSRA Drop In Centers

Created through a partnership with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) DuPage. The Drop In Centers are for individuals with a primary disability of mental illness. They provide an opportunity to spend leisure time together in a friendly atmosphere. Activities may include games, art, sporting or music events and more. Family members are welcome to attend. The programs are free.

Naperville Drop In Center (ages 31 and older)

  • Meets at the Riverwalk Community CenterEnjoying music therapy drum circle.
  • Every Wednesday (with the exception of holidays)
  • Dinner is provided by NAMI volunteers from 6-7pm and a fun activity coordinated by WDSRA from 7-9pm
  • The first Wednesday of every month is 'Visiting Artist Night'.  A local artist or Art Therapist leads the group in an art activity. The ‘Visiting Artist Night’ is funded in part by art-related grants.

Glen Ellyn Drop In Center for Young Adults (ages 18-30)
