Thank you photoThank You Guests, Donors and Sponsors!

Oh what a night! There are two words to describe this year’s Black & Red Bash …SPECTACULAR and HUMBLING.

We celebrated the STRENGTH and BEAUTY of our participants and families. We heard from two families who count on WDSRA support over the summer so that their child can have a typical camp experience. We recognized an organization whose steady support has made it possible for many of our participants to make recreation a big part of their lives.

But it is YOU who made this a SPECTACULAR event! YOU set a giving record for the WDSRA Foundation that evening!

Through ticket purchases, donations, sponsorships and your benevolent giving that evening, more than $140,000 was raised to support our participants and families! Of that, over $49,000 in donations were raised specifically for camps. Combine that with the $10,000 match, offered that evening only by the Itrich Family Foundation, a grand total of $59,000 was raised for camps!

Your INCREDIBLE support of WDSRA participants and families is changing lives!

We humbly thank you!

Thank You Volunteers!

Thank you volunteersThe Black & Red Bash can only happen with the support of many wonderful volunteers. From those who solicit items for the auctions, donate to the spirit pull, take photos, help the night of the event and so much more… it is YOUR efforts that make this evening possible.

Thank YOU for your dedication to our families and for your role in providing our guests with an outstanding evening. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year’s event an overwhelming success!

WDSRA Foundation’s Hall of Fame Inductee: The Topfer Family Foundation

Topefer Family Foundation AwardThe cornerstone of the Topfer Family Foundation’s mission is to help people connect to the tools and resources they need to build self-sufficient and fulfilling lives. Over the past 12 years, they have helped WDSRA families do exactly that.

Through the support of programs like the Special Olympics Young Athletes (SOYA) and Positive Recreational Opportunities (PRO), the Topfer Family Foundation has had a positive influence on the sustainability of both programs. Their support has impacted the children and teens at risk reached through PRO and the very youngest children supported through SOYA.

It is their understanding of the importance of special recreation services that aligns both their mission and ours. Their recognition of support for general services demonstrates the depth of their commitment to allow funding to go where it is most needed. Since 2004, the Topfer Family Foundation has generously given more than $100,000 to WDSRA.

It is with immense gratitude that we applaud their dedication and contributions.

Congratulations to the Topfer Family Foundation!

Thank You Sponsors!
