FAQ & Additional Resources

To participate in a Special Olympics program your child must be identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disabilities, cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment or significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delays that require or have required specially designed instruction.

Special Olympics programs require you to be 8 years of age or older. The Special Olympics Young Athletes program is available for children ages 2-7.

There are several non-competitive athletic programs offered throughout the year.  Check under the Bowling and Recreational Sports icon.

WDSRA Athletics uses the Bonzi Team management software for all communication and schedule information. Once you are assigned to your team each season you will receive an email invitation that will link you to your specific team page.

  • Must be at least 8 years old
  • Identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disabilities, cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment or significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delays that require or have required specially designed instruction

WDSRA is now using a new system called BonziTeam to publicize our team schedules. This allows us the opportunity to have all information in one area for our teams and allows parents easy access. This system also has an App for smartphones to allow all information right at your finger tips. At the beginning of the season athletes and parents receive an email from the system inviting them to the schedules. If you are a family member or friend who would like access to the schedules you can call the WDSRA office and request an invite.
