What is Special Recreation?
Special recreation at WDSRA brings you fun, exciting programs put together by expert staff dedicated to making sure every experience is a positive one. You get creative, innovative programming with opportunities to create social groups and make friends.
WDSRA has programs from as young as 3 years old to well into the senior years of life. There is something for every interest including: competitive and recreational athletics, Special Olympics, adaptive sports, music, dance, art, theater, social clubs, camps, trips, special events and more!

WDSRA staff occasionally takes photographs or video of participants for promoting/advertising our programs, services, events, activities, and facilities in our brochures, website or agency social media, and other promotional avenues. By registering for, participating in or attending WDSRA programs, events, or other activities, the participant (or parent/guardian of a minor participant) irrevocably agrees to the use and distribution by WDSRA of his or her image (or of his minor child/ward) in photographs, video recordings, and any other electronic reproductions of such programs, events and activities for any purpose without inspection or approval and without compensation, rights to royalties or any other consideration now and in the future.

With your very first call, Outreach will perform an intake so that we can guide you in the right direction for your child’s specific needs and goals.
We can walk you through the registration progress, let you know what to expect at each step, and introduce you to the program staff.
We will explain all the forms to you.
We can help with scholarship applications as well as resources outside of WDSRA that might provide financial assistance.
Outreach can suggest services to help meet your transportation needs.
