Guidelines for Requesting Scholarships

FY 2025-2026

The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) believes that all residents, including those in financial need, should have the opportunity to participate in recreational activities. Financial assistance funds are obtained through fundraising campaigns, and the amount available each year may vary.

To request financial assistance, individuals must complete the scholarship application form annually and return it to the WDSRA office. New applications are accepted at any time. All submitted information is confidential and not a matter of public record; however, it must be accurate and verifiable. Inaccurate or incomplete information may jeopardize scholarship eligibility.

The Scholarship Program is available to WDSRA residents with disabilities who meet the Income Eligibility guidelines. If you are unsure if you qualify as a WDSRA resident, please contact us at 630.681.0962 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Evidence of financial need must be demonstrated. Factors defining need include household size, family income, or extenuating financial situation such as excessive medical bills or current participation in public aid.

Assistance is awarded to applicants and dependent household members only. Balances from prior seasons must be paid in full before new scholarship requests  are awarded. All information provided must be accurate and verifiable.

The completion and submission of the Financial Assistance Application, along with all supporting paperwork, are necessary to verify financial eligibility and residency. Incomplete applications or those missing required documentation may result in a reduced award or denial of assistance.
